Parish Outreach Programs
For information on any of these groups please call
the rectory.
Christmas
Outreach Program
During the months of November and December, parishioners are invited to
join a program which helps the children of those who benefit from the
Food Pantry Program and our own parish families. Donations are collected,
organized, sorted, wrapped and distributed to the less fortunate during
the week before Christmas.
Food
Pantry
The Food Pantry serves the needy in Framingham with grocery itemss to
supplement their weekly food requirements. It operates from the meeting
room of St. Bridget's Rectory. This is a mid-day, weekday operation. Please
apply only if you are available at that time. Varied task opportunities
exist. The rewards and benefits abound in doing good works for others.
Ministry
To The Homeless
"For what you do unto my brothers, you do unto Me." In conjunction with
other ecumenical Framingham churches, Saint Bridget's has been actively
involved with the Clergy Overflow Shelter, a non-dry outreach which operates
from December through March. Volunteers offer to spend the evening and
overnight at the Shelter to assist the homeless and to offer companionship,
compassion, clothing necessities and food. There is always a need for
volunteers to: stay at the shelter; to provide personal items for the
homeless and to provide meals for the evenings we are assigned (typically
for us, on Sunday evenings.) Parishioners are encouraged to help us with
ANY part of this ministry, such as supplying food for even just one evening.

Hospitality
Committee
This invaluable service, which is hosted by volunteers, assists Monsignor
Strahan in setting up luncheons (general, private, etc.) and any other
occasions/activities which may be required during the course of the year.
Most Holy
Redeemer Parish, Crossroads Shelter
Several years ago, St. Bridget's Parish adopted Most Holy Redeemer Parish
in East Boston as our "Sister Parish". During the year clothing and food
drives as well as financial assistance from our Sacrificial Giving Program
are directed to the needs of this vibrant parish community. In addition,
the Crossroads Shelter, sponsored by Most Holy Redeemer Parish, receives
similar aid and attention from a number of our parish societies.
Parish
Health Program
This program which is offered to all parishioners provides accessible,
compassionate and confidential health information and guidance. Neither
primary care provider nor a minister of the church, the AParish Nurse@
promotes the relationship between health of body and health of spirit.
Programs will also be provided to increase health awareness, work one-on-one
to provide referrals to locally available support networks, and support
families with ailing members through information and counseling.
Parish
Purls
The Parish Purls are knitters of all levels of expertise who provide items
to be given to the families of the Christmas Outreach Program. Occasionally,
we extend our outreach service to include special programs such as hats
for cancer patients or premature infants. This group meets Wednesdays
from 9:45 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the Parish Renewal Center.
