A warm welcome to our new Director of Music, Michelle French and Heartfelt Farewell to Ann O’Brien!

Michelle French has been appointed as our new Director of Liturgical Music at St. Bridget Parish. We wish her well as she assumes her new responsibilities. She comes to us from St. Thomas the Apostle in Millis. During her time as Music Director there, she selected and prepared the Adult Choir for a “Lessons and Carols” service in December. She also conducted the children’s choir and played for all special services. Michelle holds a Master’s degree in Vocal Performance from the New England Conservatory of Music. Her undergraduate degree came from Samford University, a private Baptist college in Birmingham, Alabama. Give her a warm welcome when you meet her!

Ann O’Brien began her career with us as the music teacher for Saint Bridget School. Later, Ann took over as our organist, cantor and choir director for some 41 years! Over these years, Ann has demonstrated competence, loyalty and the personal faith that one would expect of a church musician. Enjoy your much deserved retirement Ann, you will be missed!

A retirement party in Ann’s honor will take place on Saturday, September 23rd in the School Hall after the 4:00PM Mass. Come, say “hello” and wish her Godspeed!

Called to Serve Weekend: September 16th & 17th

Every year at this time, our Parish launches its “Called To Serve” campaign, which marks the beginning of many of our Parish Ministries for the coming year.  This year, Called To Serve Weekend falls on September 16th & 17th.

We are blessed to have many dedicated and generous parishioners at St. Bridget’s, who volunteer for the many activities that help to bring the love of Christ to our parish and to the community at large.

Please note: ALL Volunteers must be CORI’d on these two days, take a few minutes to stop by the tables with your license and fill out & sign the form!

Please consider serving as a volunteer for one or several of the Parish ministries.  We need you ALL.  As you contemplate how you can participate, reflect on these words from our Lord:

Amen, Amen, I say to you, as long as you did this to one of the least of my brethern, you did it to Me.’

Archdiocese of Boston Initiative for Palliative Care & Advance Care Planning

Palliative Care is often misunderstood.  It’s often thought that it’s for dying patients or people in hospice at the end of their lives.  Instead it is better understood as a model of care that benefits anyone, at any time, who is diagnosed with a serious illness.

Diane McCarthy, the new Parish Education Coordinator for this initiative, and a board certified chaplain, will offer a presentation on this topic at St. Bridget Parish.

Date: October 19th

Time: 7PM

Place: St. Bridget School Hall

For questions about the program contact Karen Mallozzi, Director of Parish Ministries,

Meet our New Director of Religious Education and Youth Minister, Jessica Keefe !

Hello my name is Jessica Keefe and I am your new Director of Religious Education Grades 6-10 and Youth Minister for the St. Bridget CYO Program. I am from Dracut Massachusetts and have spent many years working for the Boston Archdiocese in my home Parish. I love working with the youth and have found a great passion in helping others find their faith. I have experience working with both the youth and adults as I have been a part of many youth and confirmation retreats as well as Women’s ACTS retreats. I received my bachelor’s degree from Rivier University in Nashua, New Hampshire, I am beginning to work on my Master’s degree in Theology.

I have worked primarily with middle school and high school aged students, so I am very excited to be taking on the role of working directly with grades 6-10. I have taught Rel. Ed. for many years and have been the coordinator of various youth ministry programs my home parish has had over the years. Service to others is something that I am very passionate about, I hope to bring back the Mission Trip Ministry to St. Bridget Parish.

In the coming weeks I ask that you please be patient with me as I begin to get settled into your Parish and School. In the meantime keep any eye out in the bulletin for upcoming Youth Ministry events. I look forward to seeing all of you at your first Rel. Ed. class on September 17th.  I am very excited to have this opportunity to be here and work with all of you. As you to see me around please feel free to introduce yourself!

~ Peace,

Jessica Keefe
